The water that’s released doesn’t get all over your countertops! win win! Recently, we learned that this plate is so awesome that you don’t even really need to take your frozen goods out of whatever bag/container you have them stored in— used to take us forever to defrost our things (without the plate) to the semi-frozen point where we could get it out of the bag/container to place it on the plate with no wrappings. I was lazy the other day and put a bag of meat I had to defrost for dinner on the plate and it easily defrosted the meat through the bag, which was so awesome! Most foods will defrost easily within 2-4 hours, which for us is much quicker then 8-10 we’d have to wait for countertop dethawing (or overnight if placing meat in the fridge to slow thaw), so this plate is amazing for the value. I don’t use the rubber corner pegs it came with because I bought the silicone mat to prevent spills.Water on the plate means it’s doing it’s job so I’m happy! The plate is easy to clean and thin enough that I can store it practically anywhere in my kitchen. My only complaint is that I wish it were bigger!!

A long time ago, I learned a trick for defrosting meat quickly. Put it on an inverted iron skillet.The problem is, my iron skillet would only hold a small amount of meat. When I found this Blazin' Thaw tray, I had to try it. By golly, it works even better than the old iron skillet! I can put up to 6 burger patties on this, and in less than an hour (usually around half an hour) they are thawed enough to cook! Even a rock-hard frozen-solid chuck roast is no match for this tray. I can get the roast out when I remember it around lunch time, and by the time I need to get it on stove, its ready to go. That makes my meal prep so much easier. The tray is a slick surface, I've never had anything stick to it, and it washes off easily. the instructions say it's dishwasher safe, but I hand wash mine as soon as I get the meat off, and it's never needed anything more, so I've never put it in the dishwasher. The silicone ends keep juices from running onto the counter,so you don't have to disinfect the whole kitchen,and they have little feet on them to keep the tray up off the surface,allowing air to circulate underneath,which helps speed thawing. I love this thing. If your terrible at remembering to take the meat out of the freezer like I am, you need this tray!
